Christmas Traditions
So I'll share my favorite family traditions that I hope to pass on to my children one day!
1-Every year my mom makes gingerbread houses and we get together and decorate them then after the season is over we can eat the candy. When we were little we'd cake on the candy so we'd have awesome candy to eat....now it's all about decorating and making them look cool.
2-Every year we get our favorite kind of cereal. When we were little that was our favorite thing because we didn't eat much sugar cereal until we got a little older so it was like a treat to us.
3-We always have awesome stuff in our stocking-like jewelry and stuff like that. The stocking's always been my favorite to open because of what Santa put in it...such as swedish fish, sour patch kids, oranges, etc.
4-When we were little we'd do 12 days of Christmas to a family and every night come up with a poem (I think my mom usually came up with it) and then we'd go deliver the item. It made us think of someone else instead of ourselves.
5-We usually go to Festival of Trees and my favorite part is always the gingerbread houses and the little booths that sells stuff that's homemade. That's where I get a lot of Christmas gift ideas from.
6-Robbie's mom always makes them pants every year and that's the one gift they get to open on Christmas eve and then they wear them Christmas day! I love that one!
7-One Robbie and I have started last year was to buy different houses and stuff for a village to display somewhere during Christmas. This year we found some really cool ones at the DI for really cheap!
So I'm sure there's more that I can't really think of right now....but that's some of them that make me enjoy Christmas. I'm sure there will be more over the years as well. So what are some of your traditions???

What do you get.....

Yay I've been tagged!!!
Yay I've been tagged by my sister, Heather, I'm so excited!!! (It was crazy to read her blog and realize that I had a lot more in common with her than I realized! I won't look outside the blinds if it's dark, I can't say my r's (I had to go to speech when I was in elementary school). It's crazy what you learn about people.
Rules; 1 Link the person who tagged you. 2 Mention the rules on your blog. 3 Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours. 4 Tag 6 other bloggers by linking them.
1. When I go to a public restroom I have to use at least three paper towels whether I need them or not. If it's the hand sensor one I will make sure I do it three times.
2. I have to bake something at least once a week or I feel like I'm failing as a future culinary arts student. (It can be as little as cinnamon rolls that are heated in oven and as big as making pumpkin cookies, rolls and whatever else in one day)
3. I have to read a magazine from back to front. If I do it front to back it just really throws me off and I don't enjoy the magazine.
4. When getting ready in the morning I take a shower, get dressed, and then do my makeup sitting in front of the computer to check facebook and my blogs and then I go back to the bathroom to finish getting ready (what can I say I'm addicted!!!)
5. I always set my alarm clock for 4 a.m. and then change it to 5 and then 5:45, then maybe 6:30 and then 6:45--7 at the latest. It makes me think I sleep longer because I get to change my alarm so much when in fact I'm sure I'm sleeping less because I have to get up so many times....Robbie's used to it by now!! (I've been doing it since I was in high school)
6. When I eat I eat all of one thing first. So if I have like mixed veggies, rice, and steak on my plate I'll eat veggies first, then go to rice and then go to steak. I feel weird if I partially eat something and then start eating something else.

Halloween
This was the sunrise that I saw as I was walking out the door to go to work. A few minutes before there was red in it and it was so pretty.
This was a Kitty Litter cake I made for work. I thought it turned out pretty cute-well I guess I shouldn't say cute...real looking maybe? Those that were brave enough to try it said it tasted really good!

I usually don't dress up for Halloween but our work kind of made a big deal about everyone dressing up and they were having a big Halloween party so I figured I better do something. I was going to dress up as a "Black Eye Pea" but I didn't have the right stuff so instead I just dressed up as a dirty pile of laundry. People thought it was pretty cute.

Karen dressed up as a "One Night Stand" I thought it was pretty hilarious. Overall Halloween was pretty fun. I just think I enjoyed it more when I was a kid and I'm sure it will be funner or maybe more stressful when I have kids I have to dress up. But Happy Late Halloween everyone!!
