Breast Cancer Awareness Month

So this month is Breast Cancer Awareness month and at work we're doing all sorts of things to celebrate and just honor the month I guess. Everyone's decorating their areas with whatever they want, we get to wear jeans tomorrow (tomorrow I guess is Jean day....so everyone wear jeans!!!), we're having lunch, and I don't remember what else. Anyways, I thought it would be fun to make a cake just to make one. One of the Nurse Practioners thinks I should make some breasts. I don't want to be disrespectful or anything because breast cancer is something that shouldn't be joked about. But I need everyone's help....

Should I do this cake??? (Again it's nothing disrespectful....)

Or should I just do this cake???? Please let me know what ya think!!!

I got pampered!!!!

I went to my sisters house today to get my hair done and I got pampered while I was there! I think my hair turned out gorgeous and I can't wait to show it off at work tomorrow. She does a great job and it's always fun hanging out with her and her kids. So this is what it looks like! She cut it and put highlights in it!! I just love it! Thanks again Heather!

While I was having my hair done my niece Aleksia said she wanted to paint my other sisters toenails but Heidi was like no so I figured she might as well do mine since I never really do anything with them! I felt like I was in a beauty shop and she did such a good job and she was quick!!! Thanks Aleksia for helping my toes look pretty too.

(Isn't she so cute????)

This is just a funny random picture I thought I'd put up. It's Cassie waiting for Robbie to come home from work. They have a ritual that I try to watch for him and when he comes home and is locking the gate I let her run out to him. But if she can hear him outside she has to be out there with him! She's a complete daddy's girl and he spoils her!!!!!

A few more cakes

So I've done a few more cakes that I thought I'd share with y'all until my "professional" website is up. My brother-in-law is going to design me one that I'm so excited about. I guess I need to send him all the details to get it going huh? In the meantime let me know what ya think of the cakes!!!!

This was for a missionary coming home from Florida. I had fun doing it. It was my first time ever doing one like this!

This was a Curious George one that turned out ok. I should've made the inside of his face lighter. I hope you can at least tell who it is. It scared me when I asked Robbie when I just had the outlining in if he could tell who it was and he was like "it just looks like a boy." What am I suspose to say to that????
This was a ladybug that I thought turned out pretty cute. I made it for a girl at work for her birthday.

Anyways, I really enjoy making cakes if you can't tell. Sometimes it takes time to get me motivated but once I'm going I think I do ok. I really don't know why all the sudden I decided I wanted to start decorating cakes but I'm glad I did. I'm hoping to eventually open a bakery or I guess work at a bakery (I just don't want to have to worry about the business part of it I just want to decorate!) So if you ever need cakes let me know!!!! But most of all I'd love your input. Tell me what you think and maybe what should've been done differently! Thanks

Tragic story

So I was reading on someone's blog the other day and they had a link to http//sccsdecker.blogspot.com which is a blog about a lady who was pregnant with her second child and had to have an emergency c-section at 7 months along and while in surgery her blood pressure went very high and they had to give her medication which caused her to have both her legs from the knees down amputated, her left arm below the elbow amputated, her right ring finger amputated and she was left blind. I read her blog and it's crazy to think that your life can change in an instant. It's a real interesting blog that you should read! It's sad but it is encouraging to hear how positive her husband and family are!

My dignity is GONE!!!!

So I get up this morning as usual to get ready for my great day off! (Yes I'm so excited I finally get a day off in the week and that I'm spending part of it with Kiera and her sisters). So I get everything I need to take a shower and then I pull the curtain back and low and behold guess what was there????? No not a mouse, not a fly, but a HUGE freaking wolf spider!

It was about that size too! Eww. Makes me just cringe. So I had to call my wonderful husband in there so that he could take care of it even though he hates spiders WAY more than I do. But he took care of the problem. But now all day I think I'm going to be freaked out thinking there's another spider somewhere just waiting to jump out and scare me. I know I should've probably acted with more maturity and just pushed it in the water and killed it or even better yet grabbed it in my hand and taken it outside to give it it's freedom but lets face the facts....I didn't. And if I would've taken it outside it would've just come back in and been somewhere else to give me a heart attack and I wasn't even prepared for that this early in the morning!!!!!

Bear Lake Trip

So this past weekend my family had their annual Bear Lake trip. It wasn't as fun as most I think just cuz the weather was not as good as usual but it's always good to be with family!

Here's the family just hanging out at dinner time! Our favorite time of the day!!!!

This is my cute niece Aleksia all bundled up after playing in the water. I think she got in more than anyone else did!!!

This is Aleksia, Cooper, and my cousin Jayden watching a movie. That was their favorite thing to do up there.

This is my brother A.J., cousin Jayden, and niece Ella playing on the blanket. All the kids love to play with A.J. it's funny to watch.

My niece Aleksia!!! She's so photogenic!!!

Recent Cakes

Here's a cake I made for one of the physician's assistant at work for his birthday! It turned out ok but I don't understand why one side of the face is always thinner than the other but I guess if you look at it from the side you don't notice it. It was a big hit at work and I hope I get future customers from it. I've missed decorating cakes!

Side view of the cake. Let me know what ya think. When I make the frosting here it seems to melt a lot faster so I guess that's going to be an adjustment I'm going to have to work on!!!

Here's a cake that I made for my brother-in-law's birthday. He enjoys golf. It turned out ok. I think if I would've spent more time on it it could've been cuter!!
